Heather Petersen has been in the bankcard industry since 2003 and has topped charts as a sales agent, sales manager, and as CEO of The National Merchants Association. A cum laude graduate of “The Harvard of the Midwest”, Miami University with a B.A in English and a minor in Marketing, she has proven to be an excellent leader in sales and marketing as well as a great public speaker and motivator of success.

During her time with NMA, Petersen has pioneered a new era of bankcard and developed a merchant account optimization software to insure the constant perfection in merchant account maintenance. NMA currently operates nationwide through 17 regional offices as it continues to dominate the retail ISO space and facilitates over $46 million in transactions per month. NMA recently acquired the "military-friendly" employer and merchant services provider accolades as well as gain the ability to bid for government and women-owned state and national contracts throughout the United States.

Petersen began her career as an International Wireless Buyer for RadioShack Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas straight out of college. After negotiating the very first contract between RadioShack and PaySpot, she gained a first-hand knowledge of the concept of residual income. With visions so clear of residual and bank card potential, Petersen left RadioShack and started NMA without hesitation.

Today, NMA has become one of the fastest growing ISO in the industry and has, by far, the lowest attrition due to Petersen’s constant demand for perfect customer service and support. The National Merchants Association has become an association that works on behalf of business owners to acquire and/or negotiate the appropriate merchant services program for their particular business needs.
