Roman Jakubowycz leads Consulting and Education at National Strategic. He has owned several small businesses, consulted at mid-sized companies and worked for Eastman Kodak and Alcoa. He holds an MBA from the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business.
After graduating from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio) with a BA/MA in Political Science, Roman Jakubowycz spent a year in Ukraine working for an NGO (Non Governmental Organization) organizing seminars on how democracies implement civilian control over their armed forces.

During that year abroad, he personally witnessed the birth of the entrepreneurial spirit in a Post-Communist Society where, until then, it was not only discouraged but criminal. Needless to say, this was when he caught the “entrepreneurial bug”.

On his return to The United States Roman began his career in business by buying a small travel agency in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb. It was this practical experience and the lessons learned that would form the basis of his unique approach to Small Business growth.

While Roman acknowledges the valuable lessons he took from “the school of hard knocks” he wanted to accelerate his learning and acquire a different perspective on Business Management. He earned his MBA from the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business in 2001 with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Business Strategy. He sold his first business and accepted an offer to join Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York and later returned to Cleveland, Ohio to join ALCOA, Inc.

During the 8 Years Roman spent in Corporate America he held positions in Finance, Corporate Strategy and Manufacturing. He was regularly involved in Business Forecasting & Analysis, New Product Development, Marketing, Acquisitions & Divestitures as well as a number of special projects that reported to Business Unit or Corporate Management. This extensive experience in Fortune 200 Companies introduced him to the “best practices” that would eventually become key components of the National Strategic approach to Small Business management.

In 2007 Roman left Corporate America to return to the world of Small Business where he would leverage his newly acquired business skills and corporate experiences. After exploring various business and consulting opportunities, Roman joined National Strategic Group, as a partner, to lead the Consulting Practice and Education Division. There he would be instrumental in developing the Small Business Strategic Growth Formula (Evolve To Grow™) that forms the foundation of the National Strategic approach to Small Business Growth.

Know for his leadership, creativity and strategic thinking, Roman has a no nonsense, straight-talk approach to business. He is able to simplify and customize the best practices of Fortune 500 Companies to the unique needs of the individual business he is working with. Roman is an expert in using Financial Forecasting & Analysis to anticipate issues before they become profit losing problems. His Strategic thinking regularly identifies opportunities for growth, differentiation and outmaneuvering the competition.

Roman is currently coaching business owners, writing and speaking about the tools, strategies and techniques that lead small businesses to predictable and sustainable growth. He regularly speaks to chamber of commerce, business groups, lunch and learns, workshops, industry association, etc. He can address a wide range of topics and his presentations are regularly described as “content rich”, “immediately actionable”, “educational” yet “simple to follow”, “well organized” and “to the point”.
