Frank Trama co-founded Viper Network Systems, LLC in 2011 with Dan Gynn, which build a new security layer that revolutionizes how network security layers are designed. A respected member in his industry, Trama built upon his experiences that can be traced back to the early nineties as a assistant computer technician at a small computer company in Pittsburgh. This first job set his path that lead him to network engineering, assessment, security, and design for companies such as Xerox Connect, The Future Now, WQED, Bayer, The Andy Warhol Museum, Thrift Drug, to an owner partner of a two thousand user dial-up ISP.

Trama helped grow this to a fifteen thousand dial-up user base in just a 3 year period with his years of experience, market direction, and insight. Seeing the dial-up business floundering he adjusted the model and expanded the customer base by introducing new services, which at the time seemed impossible, and only offered by larger ISP conglomerates. He was able to inexpensively build the foundation, and offer these services such as DSL, web design, and email only, web domains, and portals for a low cost to end users.

Through his practical hands on experience, vision, and passion to simplify network security, Trama identified a gap that most network security designs seemed to over look or not take seriously. With years of security rules building, frustrations, firewall installations, and labor intensive methods to limit exposure to open network ports. His vision finally became a reality when he met Dan Gynn, a bright open source centric programmer. This resulted in PacketViper, a Intelligent Geo IP Network Filter, which is one of kind, and stands alone in the network security chain

Different than most country blocking methods, PacketViper is capable of filtering not just the country, but limit them to a specific ports bi-directionally, along with their patent pending Global Network Lists, which can filter global businesses, and high risk networks.

PacketViper hit the ground running when presented at INTEROP, and SECURE WORLD trade shows after its release in 2012. Their approach to simplify network security became a reality, when their first PacketViper sold a few days after launch.
