Hairston has worked in all forms of media, from writing national news and broadcasting to community newspaper design and layout. As a result, she has mastered skills in writing, editing, TV journalism and social media marketing. She successful launched a dietary supplement line called Dark Matter by introducing the company to the web in 2012. She wrote educational success stories for online news site Examiner.com in 2013. While getting her bachelor’s degree, Hairston secured an internship with the number one news station, WSOC-TV, in Charlotte, N.C. Today, she covers education and county news the city of Henderson, N.C. for The Daily Dispatch.

Hairston fell in love with entertainment PR after working with several inspiring hip hop artists and writing blogs, booking shows and developing their image. She plans to take her journalism skills and enhance them into brand building opportunities for other aspiring talent upon completion of her Master’s in Public Relations next year. Her career goal have a successful physical PR firm and artist development studio in Atlanta, Ga.
