Lara is a self-professed tech and food geek who spends her days bombing around Portland on her bike, designing software and exploring the food culture of the Pacific Northwest. After many years at Microsoft working on both server and consumer software, she picked up a camera and a whisk, and turned her hobby into a delicious career. As a food writer and photographer, Ferroni has been lucky enough to work with dozens of top-tier publications, has shot over 20 cookbooks and published 3 cookbooks with a fourth on the way next month, Cookie Doughlicious: 50 Cookie Dough Recipes for Candies, Cakes, and More. She’s also the author of the technical book, Food Photography: Pro Secrets for Styling, Lighting & Shooting, a getting-started guide to professional food photography. Since 2013, as VP of Product Development at Project 529, Lara’s been helping people to put down the cookies, get off the couch and get outside, and is training for her first century.
