Simon Kwan has developed a number of commercially successful products in fields as varied as power sports, travel goods, and fashion and lifestyle accessories. He is currently based in Shanghai, China, and close to its manufacturing resources.
Simon Kwan began his career as a mechanical engineer in the US auto industry. Having worked for giants like GM and Chrysler, Kwan gained experience in large scale manufacturing and various automotive systems. However, Kwan had always displayed an artistic and creative prowess, and therefore made the transition from engineering to industrial design.

He made the move to China in late 2005 in order to combine his American culture, education, and work experience with his Chinese heritage, at the heart of the world's manufacturing engine. His entry into China saw him developing power sports vehicles, such as the successful Dazon Raider Extreme 1100 off road go kart, as well as the Tomberlin Punished 150RX off road go kart.

In 2008, Kwan joined veteran Los Angeles based WESSCO International; North America's leading supplier of global airline, hotel, and cruise amenities for over 30 years. At WESSCO, Kwan led product design efforts that saw WESSCO grow its business to supplying award winning Etihad Aiways as well as becoming the first foreign airline catering supplier to launch a luxury branded first class amenity kit to a major Chinese airline.

Since 2011, Kwan has served as Creative Director in a start up, developing housewares as well as fashion accessories for a Chinese fashion collective. In 2012, he is focusing on developing independent projects as well as creative collaborations with other designers and creative companies.
