Kevin started life as an electrician but then moved into sales & marketing after moving south from his birthplace, Sunderland, in 1981. Following a career in semiconductor distribution Kevin set up a PC components distributor for Eurodis Electron Plc in 1992. Six years later the company reached a turnover of £40Million+ and was a major supplier to the UK’s indigenous PC builder base.

Following a friendly exit deal with Eurodis in 1998 Kevin set up AuDeo Systems, a provider of Video Conferencing solutions. AuDeo grew to be the largest distributor in Europe by 2001 and after a complete change of direction brought on by supplier strategy changes and general market depression, AuDeo is now one of the UK’s largest independent integrators, an achievement reached in less than four years. AuDeo’s goal is to continue its growth in the UK and possibly expand into Europe over the next 5 years.

With over 15 years worth of knowledge and experience gained from working in the Video Conferencing industry, Kevin has a great insight into the reasons why companies adopt video conferencing, the benefits they gain from doing so & also on the flip side the barriers they encounter. He also understands, first hand, how the technology has changed and significantly improved over the last few years.

In Kevin’s opinion every company can benefit from deploying Video Conferencing into their business. The material benefits are obvious; savings on your travel costs, more time to do other things and quicker decisions. The soft costs are not so obvious; competitive advantage, greater all round cost savings, environmentally friendly communications, speed to market, greater differentiation, reduced executive stress levels and of course greater efficiency and productivity.

Early adopters of technologies such as email revolutionised business and Kevin believes that Video Conferencing is at this stage NOW. In today’s economic climate, staying one step ahead of the competition is key to an organisations success. Video conferencing can and will provide competitive advantage and companies that don’t invest now will be overtaken by competitors who do.

Video Conferencing is a technology that requires evangelising and Kevin speaks at many events spreading the word to users who can benefit in a way that informs and entertains and enthuses people to do something about their Visual Communications strategy.
