With over twenty years of hospitality experience Monica started her career studying Hotel Management at South Devon College and worked in 3 star hotels in Torquay. Whilst studying she had two internships, one was at The Ritz and the other was with Radisson Edwardian Hotels. She forged her career with this organisation working in several of their London hotels. She then took her 5 star experience and travelled the world with Cunard working on two of their cruise ships: The Countess and the QE2. Returning to London she worked for Berkeley Scott recruiting personnel to fulfil vacancies in all disciplines, back and front of house, from Kitchen Porters to Food and Beverage Supervisors for Forte Hotels in London.

Monica then returned to education and studied for a MA in Personnel Management at the University of the West of England. After which she became Human Resource Manager for Hilton Group Plc and worked in five of their London properties. During her time here she was responsible for the implementation of standards, hotel openings and refurbishments.

After this Monica moved in to the educational arena and taught Hospitality Management at Westminster Kingsway College. The employer groups she managed included Travelodge Hotel Managers and the British Army. During her time here she was also on the authoring team of two hospitality books: Hospitality Supervision Level 3 and The Routledge Handbook of Hospitality Management.

Throughout her career Monica has been passionate about developing aspiring hospitality managers. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, regularly writes for Hotel Industry Magazine and is the author of "Star Quality Hospitality - The Key to a Successful Hospitality Business".
