Julianne Duncan is a former scientist and paramedic of 15 years. She now teaches full time and is the EMS Program Director at a local community college. She holds a BS in Biomedical Science and a MS in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics.
Julianne Duncan has always been a caregiver. She started her career in healthcare as a 16-year-old Certified Nurses' Aide (CNA). After a brief stint in college away from care-giving, she knew she had to return to it. Her Bacherlor's degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and Master's in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Baylor College of Medicine give her a wide knowledge pertaining to the workings of the human body. She briefly worked as a wet-lab scientist and a NASA project leader. Her background in science gives her the ability and know-how to complete voluminous research prior to making any recommendations or choosing a product for her store.

She then became devoted paramedic who worked AND volunteered for the majority of her career. She served both as a paramedic on a 911 response truck and as a supervisor. She still works as a part-time paramedic for a local municipality.

She eventually found her true passion was in teaching. She began in an Adjunct Faculty position early in her paramedic career. There, she helped students learn and perfect their hands-on skills. However, within a few years, she teaching her own EMS class (while still working as a full time medic). From there, she advanced to EMS Program Director in which capacity she still serves today.

She got involved in prepping upon the recognition that the economy is in trouble. She finds the math of money-printing and oncoming inflation (or even hyperinflation) "an inescapable fact." She has felt "called" for years to "do something;" through a series of what she considers divine events, Step By Step Prep was born.
