 Nancy Salamone is an author, speaker and advocate against domestic violence. She is also a survivor of domestic violence and the author of a program on financial self-sufficiency for women mired in their own violent relationships.

Nancy is the author of “Victory Over Violence” the inspiring story of one woman’s struggle to live an independent life free from Domestic Violence and her quest to help other women achieve independence in their lives too.

“Victory Over Violence” begins early in Nancy’s life and details how influences from her upbringing influenced her decisions and how those decisions led her to become mired in domestic violence right from the beginning of her twenty year marriage, a marriage that began at age 19.

For twenty years Nancy lived two lives. One, a successful Wall Street executive and the other, a behind closed doors abused wife.

Nancy is also the author and developer of The Business of Me, curriculum that teaches women survivors financial and life self-sufficiency skills that is based on her personal experience of growing up financially illiterate and how her husband completed dominated her financially, physically, emotionally and sexually. The program works with women to create community around financial independence with the goal of reducing revictimization.
As a speaker Nancy has the unique ability to bond with her audience. Her talks have her audience crying and laughing and ultimately learning from her experiences.

Nancy’s career and personal accomplishments are vast and varied. For more than three decades Nancy has shown extraordinary leadership during her business career and through her personal endeavors.

Her accomplishments include 25 years as an executive for major Wall Street financial services companies and her devotion to “giving back” through her non-profit work, her teaching and her visionary creation of “The Business of Me”.

Nancy has served on several non-profit boards and has spoken and instructed extensively on subjects ranging from Domestic Violence, Financial Literacy and Self-Sufficiency and general issues of interest to women.

Most recently Nancy was the keynote speaker at the 2011 International Women’s Day Celebration and received International Women’s Day Achievement Award for her work in combating domestic violence.

Nancy's program The Business of Me has been presented at women's organizations and shelters throughout the northeast including Dress For Success's Professional Women's Group in Manhattan

Nancy has been featured widely in the press on radio, in magazines, and on television.
