Tom is a music industry veteran whose career has accounted for the sale of more than 50 million records. He has a successful track record in the recognition, nurturing and guidance of highly successful recording artists. Most recently he founded totallivemusic.com, the ultimate online destination for the live music fan which includes 1.8 million historical and future tour event dates and has attracted more than 200,000 active concert goers as members.
Tom began his career as a member of the A&R department at Atlantic Records where he was responsible for signing and developing talent that generated over $500 million in revenues. He later opened the West Coast operations for 550 Music, a division of Sony Music and served as creative executive for Lava Records, a division of Time Warner.
In 2004, Tom founded J Rae Entertainment, LLC, a company focused on offering recording artists the necessary tools and resources to extend the experience of their live shows directly to their fans online. Clients include Rancid, Hootie and The Blowfish, Ted Nugent, Toots and The Maytals and others. He managed the digital strategies for the Coachella Music Festival, the largest music festival in North America. Tom managed the recording of hundreds of live concert events, most recently placing the offerings of the Coachella Music Festival and the Mile High Music Festival through the AT&T Blueroom portal, capturing artists such as Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Bjork, Jack Johnson, and Arctic Monkeys.
Tom has signed and developed numerous recording artists including Stone Temple Pilots, Macy Gray, The Lemonheads, Unwritten Law, and Jim Lauderdale, among others. He was also served as Executive Producer of the The Crow, Matter of Degrees, Schoolhouse Rock and Encomium, among others. Tom received a B.G.S. from the University of Iowa.
