Michael is an ICON accredited conservator who founded Inspire Conservation Ltd in 2009 though he practised conservation for some time before then. He manages a team of dedicated conservators, craftsmen and stone masons on stone and decorative surface conservation projects. These projects include listed buildings, historic structures and monuments.

Inspire Conservation provides specialist services to independent clients, consultants, project managers and other contractors as specialist sub contractor if necessary. Michael has completed projects for English Heritage, CADW, many local authorities and numerous parish councils. Services offered include stone masonry, stone conservation, stone cleaning and repair, decorative surface restoration and conservation. Inspire Conservation also offers other management services including project documentation support, condition surveys and specification advice.

In 2012 Michael co-founded Stone Conservation Supplies Ltd T/A Inspire Supplies. Inspire Supplies is an online materials and equipment supplier for lime mortars, plastering materials, building equipment and tools and stone mason tools. Inspire Supplies offer a dedicated service providing free advice for customers who purchase products including methods of application and product usage. Customers include museum organisations like the Tate gallery, conservation professionals, conservation contractors, stone masons and traditional plasterers.
