Eric Deadwyler was formerly Director of Education and Science at Florida’s Gulfarium from 1995-2007.

His science writing includes:
o When The Tide Turns: Almost Everything You Need To Know About Red Tides and Other Harmful Algal Blooms
o Marine Biology: An Introduction to Life in the Sea and Related Environmental Issues
o Emerald Waters, the script for a documentary that addresses a number of issues related to water quality in coastal waters, with emphasis on what individuals can do to protect the environment. Broadcast on Florida Public TV and the Florida Knowledge Network
o Coastal Wetlands, a curriculum developed for upper elementary grade science.

He has given scientific and technical lectures in marine science and related fields, as well as philosophy of education, to all age groups, including university-level in-service teacher staff development, and all primary and secondary grades from 1-12.

He has owned and/or maintained several dozen aquariums, from tiny fish bowls to 10,000+ gallons, and kept over 300 species of aquatic and marine flora and fauna.
