Marlene Fuson was born in Middlesboro, KY on November 20th, 1980. She was raised a few miles west in the small town of Corbin, KY, by her grandparents Marvin “Tiny” and Josephine Ellison. They shaped and molded her into the woman she is today. When she is not writing, she works as a licensed Medical Esthetician, a Mentor, and a Network Marketing Professional (affiliations with Zija International as an Independent Distributor & ASEA). She has been married to her husband Barry Fuson for 14 “miserably wonderful years.” She is also the mother of three wonderful children: Nicholas (the inspiration for her book), Alex, and Angel.

Marlene has overcome many obstacles in her life. She was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer her senior year of high school. Upon the day of her return to school, she was involved in an automobile accident. As a result, she suffered severe injuries, including the hardship of being told she would never walk again. She contended with her own health issues while coping with the grief of losing her cousin. Even though those situations sound bleak, Marlene strived to keep a positive attitude and uplift those around her.

In her early 20’s, she faced another hard ship of losing her grandmother, grandfather, and father in the span of little more than a year. The stress of the situation was unbelievable, and it brought about the signs of another unwelcomed problem, familial hemiplegic migraines. Once again, after a life-threatening occurrence that placed her in paralyzed state, she was unable to move, talk and for a brief period, breathe on her own. She once again had to relearn how to walk. These experiences taught her many things about perseverance, determination, and finding your inner “why.” Since then she has vowed to live each day as the true gift it is!

Her goal in life is to help people in many aspects of their own lives. She is passionate about inspiring people to become better and achieve the things in life that they really want. Her mantra is, always keep learning; a day without learning something is a day wasted.
