Ayanna has been writing creatively since her adolescence. Writing plays and poetry as a young girl was her first form of self-expression. After taking child development courses and working part-time at a daycare, Ayanna’s love for children deepened and her interest in their development grew. By combining both her love for children and creative writing, a children’s book author was born.

Born in Southern California, Ayanna currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona, where she has made a tremendous contribution to her local community and has been recognized for her efforts. She is a passionate supporter of children’s arts, education, health, and well-being. This former dancer and model traded in her childhood dreams of being in front of the camera for the comfort she found in being behind the scenes in the fantasy world of children’s storytelling.

In 2013 Ayanna started Wow International…Words of Wisdom in order to self-publish Jacob’s First Day: Sharing is Caring. Her books are meant to encourage, highlight, and focus on the importance of life lessons and human kindness. In her spare time she volunteers with several local and non-profit organizations. Ayanna Mitchell sees her work as a contribution to humanity and as a way to live her purpose driven life.

Jacob’s First Day: Sharing is Caring, is the first release in the building character book series followed by Smarty Pants Penny: Yes, Please, Thank you, which is set to be released in spring 2016.
